Getting Your Pine Wardrobe from a Store

A pine wardrobe can be a beautiful addition to your collection of furniture pieces in your home. If you’re planning to buy a wardrobe to store your clothes (or whatever other household items), why choose one that is made from pine? One reason is because of the appearance of the wood finish that a pine provides. If you appreciate furniture made from wood, then you’ll enjoy the patterns formed from the wood grain and knots on the surface of such a wardrobe.  Unlike other types of woods, particularly hard wood such as oak, pine wardrobes costs much less.

I must state right now that there is more to buying a good pine wardrobe armoire than just walking into a store, seeing something you like and making the transaction. I’ll use this pine wardrobe guide to point out some of things to you need to think about in your next purchase. Note that I’ll only be covering wardrobes that have been constructed already. If you are interested in customized wardrobes, you should consult a decent fitted wardrobes guide instead.

The first step you should take is to make measurements of the area in the room which you plan to place your wardrobe. I know this sounds obvious, but I must mention it nonetheless as people often get so excited about getting their furniture item, they completely overlook the practical facets. There’s no point in having the best looking wardrobe and not being able to use it. Remember that usability outranks aesthetics when it comes to wardrobes.

Once you are in a local store, take a “test drive” with the display unit in the display room. Visualize the wardrobe being in your room, and use it like you would every day. Open and close the doors and drawers. Imagine how you would place each items in the wardrobe – do you have clothes to hang? Then are there hanging rails and what is the height of this compartment? It’s not rocket science but you still need to put some planning and thought behind it.
