Does the Stuff in Your House Make Your House Look Stuffy?
Do you know how your house or apartment is being perceived by others? Take a step back from the living space for a moment, and take a good hard look at what you see. I mean, really take a look at what you’ve accomplished with the overall layout of your home decor. Now, ask yourself, “Is this how I want others to see me?” Answering this one question will give you all the insight you need to push your home decor design in the direction that best says who you are as a person or a family.
Granted, living life based on what you hope others will see in you is not the healthiest way to go, but in this instance it’s truly more about you than it is about them anyway. By asking yourself the hard questions, about what your home should and ultimately does appear to be, will give you the best insights into how you can achieve the best home for what you’re trying to accomplish. After all, nobody wants to live in a tacky, trashy environment, so take an introspective moment to see what your home life is all about.
What do the furnishings say about you as a person? Are you comfortable with the single futon mattress you’ve had since your college days, or is it time to move from the single mattress lifestyle to the California King lifestyle, one worthy of who you’ve become over the years?
Check out your kitchen, the bathroom, all the bedrooms in the house; Are there any idle appliances lying around doing nothing, that you could get rid of or donate to charity? Does the carpeting need to be replaced by newer carpeting, or removed altogether to make way for the Brazilian teak flooring that lay just beneath?
Figuring out what steps you can take to better improve your home living situation is largely a personal process, but one that can be fulfilling and rewarding, ultimately setting you up for a lifetime of self-satisfied bliss and happiness.
