flush mount ceiling lightsWhen choosing flush mount ceiling lights for your home, the biggest thing to keep in mind is the location at which the fixture will be mounted. There are a lot of different varieties of fixtures in a wide variety of prices to match ever decor, and it pays to purchase a fixture that is fitting to the location. In other words, if you are adding a light to your walk in closet, there is no need to spend as much to get a light of the same style as you might use in your kitchen, or some other high traffic area.

Let’s look at the three main types of flush mount lighting. The first type, and also the least expensive, are the small flush mount globe fixtures that are so popular in hall way and closet areas. These are the most simple fixtures you can get, but they do a great job of lighting these relatively small areas of your home. A small globe fixture can be purchased for as little as ten dollars, but a fixture like this should never cost more than $25.

The next most popular type of flush mount light are those that are still globes, but much more stylish than those simple globes we talked about earlier. This is the type of fixture commonly seen in kitchen or bathroom areas, a hallway that gets a lot of traffic, or perhaps an entry way with a low ceiling that does not allow for a more substantial light fixture. A globe like this can cost as little as $25 or as much as $75. The price will depend on size as well as the level of detail and style the fixture has.

The third type of flush mount lighting is the type generally reserved for places like the living room, den, or perhaps a home office. These fixtures have more substance, and might have multiple light pendants. The thing to remember about flush mount lighting is the fixture may have many lights rather than just a simple globe. This type of lighting is named for the way it mounts to the ceiling, not the lighted end of the fixture. Based on that definition there are hundreds of different configurations that can all be considered a part of this lighting category. These lights can range in price from the $50 range up to a couple of hundred dollars. You can also get this kind of light fixture with a ceiling fan attached. these units can be found with remote controls, dimmers, and other bells and whistles that make them more user friendly but also make them more pricey.
