Flower Vases Make Decorating A Table Fun And Easy
It is always a lot of fun to invite friends and family for special occasions. We like on these occasions to set out our best linens and dishes and to make the table particularly festive. Now that summer is here flowers are much cheaper and many of us have flowers in our own garden. It is the perfect time to use flowers as centerpieces or in some way to decorate our tables. Choosing the right vase however is not always easy.
Flower vases can be made from anything that will hold water, so don’t feel like you have to have a special container. You can use old soup bowls, glasses of different shapes and varying sizes, a small watering can, even square boxes with interesting motifs or designs. However there is a rule that you should follow regardless of the shape, color or material of your container. A vase should be ⅓ of the total size of the floral display, the flowers should be 2/3.

While I stated that anything can become a flower vase, some shapes seem to be better suited for some purposes. For example a conical container is better for wild flowers, or for any type of informal flower arrangement.
To display a single flower, tube vases are ideal, any small cylinder will enhance the beauty of a single flower. In fact there are some thin magnetic vases that are no more than small aluminum tubes. They stand on the table like by magic. It is a very ingenious design, a magnet in the base of the tube fixes it to a metal plate that is placed under the tablecloth. A truly spectacular and modern effect.
Crystal tulip vases have remained popular and always loved, they do make the perfect house gift as one can never have too many. When using clear crystal you can add some coloring to the water for a more striking visual, sometimes pebbles or marbles can be use to add variety to your decoration.
As you can see you can have fun and let your imagination run wild, look around the house for forgotten containers and bring them out to enjoy the flowers of summer. You really cannot do anything wrong!
