Infuse your home decorating inspiration with a shot of kitchen blind mania-and you’ll never be the same. Okay, you will be the same, but your windows won’t. When it comes to dressing kitchen windows in color and style, why do kitchen blinds lay forgotten on a back-burner far from our kitchens?
Well, for most of us, blinds don’t seem important. But they are important. Blinds compliment the décor of your kitchen and allow you to control how much light enters through your window. With the right blinds you can achieve a warm, relaxed or natural atmosphere for your kitchen. This is important because the kitchen is where everyone comes together to eat and chat. Your blind allows you to create that extra feeling of warmth and comfort with ease.
Also, if you’re a mom trying to get lunch ready- it is a must to be able to watch your kids playing in the yard. Blinds let you to watch them while you’re cooking, because opening and closing them is easy- requiring little effort. Yes, there are other alternatives to using blinds. For example, curtain and shades look great, but they will need more work and care. You could use curtains in the kitchen, but they hold in odors and the only way to clean them is to put them in the washer. Blah! Go for a walk instead. You have enough housework already.
Blinds on the other hand only need to be wiped down with a warm cloth- and best of all they repel grease and dirt so you don’t even have to clean them often.
There are also many different types of material and styles of blinds, so you won’t have to worry about finding the perfect pair to match your kitchen decor. But for the kitchen, we only recommend a few kinds. Composite style blinds release you from the drudgery of blind cleaning- and reduce mini blinds to late night local talk programming. There are two others that can handle the heat in your kitchen as well. Be sure to check Venetian and faux wood blinds too.
Composite style blinds are great because they provide an elegant, low maintenance, and durable solution. They do come in a variety of colors also; so you’re free to pick the best one that suits you. Faux wood blinds are also super in the kitchen because they hold to the same design as composite and do wonders to enhance decor. Venetian is a third option. We sadly put these in last place. Sadly because we like them. A lot. They come in a huge variety of colors and hold the best eye appeal of the three with strength in varience. They simply can’t hang in the high humidity and privacy control land- the other two can.
When decorating your kitchen, blinds are a must have. A must have because they won’t cost as much as granite counter tops, a new stove, or many other kitchen upgrades. You can buy good quality for around $100.00 per blind.
As for looks? Seek things that can power-up a room, and be bought for reasonable prices. The right blinds in your kitchen is an upgrade you can’t afford to miss. They give tremendous lift to your kitchen’s appeal, cost little, and cleaning them is a breeze.
When it comes to our home, there’s something special about a maximum upgrade for minimum cost.
