Washable Rugs for all Budgets
Washable rugs are a great idea for your home if you have a normal life and/or family and don’t live as if you were on the pages of a magazine. All rugs look great when they are new but they can look the worse for wear once they have been walked on in muddy boots and had the odd spill. Of course, everyone is careful when the rug is new but being extra careful soon wears off. There are no worries however if your rug is washable. You can clean it yourself whenever you like, sometimes just by popping it in the washing machine and if not with a good soak in a bathtub of warm soapy water.
In general, these rugs are no more expensive than normal rugs and sometimes a lot cheaper. That is because they tend to be made of cheaper synthetic rather than natural materials such as wool. You will find many washable rugs made of polypropylene or acrylic in all kinds of designs and 
colors so you should be able to find something to go well with the style of your room and color scheme. Your rug will not have quite the same softness as a wool rug but you will probably feel that the benefit of being washable outweighs this, especially if you have a young family.
If your budget is very limited look for rugs made of cotton. These are often machine washable. You will find some gorgeous shaggy rugs made of strips of t-shirt material which are very soft and look great as bedside rugs, in particular. You will also find that some bath rugs (which are usually washable) make great bedside rugs too and they are very low in price compared to other rugs as well as coming in some great colors, both neutral and bright.
